Gina K Sneak Peek - Day 3

Today I bring you cards from Gina’s Spring Florals and Asela Hopkins’ Dream Birds.  These are both fantastic sets.  Spring Florals are just my favorite kind of stamp - flowers!  Perfect for all your spring cards!  And Dream Birds is absolutely adorable!

For Spring Florals - I just had to do my favorite style.  Watercolored flowers on a Fabriano notecard.  I know I do them all the time, but I love it this way! The purple grosgrain is part of the new ribbons being released this month too!

The Dream Birds just called out for a little copic action.  I used these shades on this card (all are Copic Ciao markers): E33, E35, E 37, B00, BG10, BG 15, Y 21,  YG 06, YG 03, and YG 11.  All cardstock used here is by Gina K Designs.

For a limited time, a free Card Kit will automatically be included with each purchase of the Spring Florals stamp set. The entire kit includes the stamp set, a binder sheet, the instructions and materials to make 3 complete cards for $19.95. For more details on the cards, please visit Jessica Fick’s blog.

Gina K Sneak Peek - Day 2

Ok, Friday evening I slipped on the tile (DO NOT WEAR SOCKS ON TILE) and caught myself with my right hand.  Stupid idea.  Turns out it is just badly sprained.  But I bet you didn’t realize how much you use your wrist/arm muscles in stamping!  Seriously - you really do!  Anyway - that’s my PSA for today: NEVER wear socks on tile floors!

And now for a card - this color combo….let’s just say I am less than sure about it.  But this stamp set is gorgeous!  Y’all love Mel’s flowers - and you’re going to adore this set!  And I adore that it has a sentiment that says “Praise the Lord”!

This uses the new cardstock shades Lemon Drop and Lovely Lavender.  I have been using Almost Amethyst ink with the lavender - it’s the closest match I had on hand. I inked the stamps then spritzed them with water and stamped.  Topped it off with some sparkly stickles!

The Pressed Flowers stamp set was designed to be a perfect companion to Melanie’s A Year of Flowers set! It is also a perfect stand alone set as each bold stamp image lends itself to many techniques as you will see on each designer’s blogs tonight!

Start with the Illustrator’s blog Melanie Muenchinger and then visit these designer’s blogs for even more samples with this stamp set and Rupa Shevde’s O Baby Stamp set as well!

Gina K Sneak Peek - Day 1

I am so excited to be sharing this new set with you.  I know most of us have  been watching the devastation in Haiti - it’s just heartbreaking to see all those people that have been affected by it all.  The Red Cross is always there in situations like this to offer supplies, support, and more.  The Hope is Faith set that Gina created will benefit the Red Cross.  $2 from the sale of each set will go directly to the Red Cross.  Not only do you get a lovely image and sentiment, but you can also help support their efforts.

I have two cards to share using this set tonight.  I wanted to show that you can do something simple and something more complex with the same image and sentiment.  This first card is one layer.  I stamped the image in white ink on the kraft cardstock.  Then I inked only the word hope from the sentiment and stamped that on the front.  The rest of the sentiment is stamped on the inside of the card.

This second card uses a niji waterbrush and watercolor paper to show how you can color the image as well.  For this, I also used a quickie glue pen to adhere a bit of bling to the butterfly.  The sentiment is stamped inside the card.

(oh and check out that lovely new pastel cardstock!!!)

The Hope is Faith mini stamp set retails for $9.95. It was created to raise money for the Red Cross to help with the devastation in Haiti. $2.00 of every purchase of this stamp set will be sent directly to the Red Cross throughout the month of February.

As the first responders to disasters around the world, the Red Cross is there to help with the basic needs of these people who have suffered so much. By purchasing this mini set, you will help to make a difference to people who are desperate by supporting an organization that works tirelessly to feed, clothe, comfort and care for those in need.

Gina K Sneak Peek - Day 4

Today I have a little peek at Nina Brackett’s adorable Valentine set - Heartily Yours!  And she has an additional set that comes with a lot more sentiments that work with the original!  Adam (6) wanted to make a card with me today, so I’ll show y’all his sweet card too!

After today, I will be taking a hiatus from my blog…..if I do any blogging at all in the next 2-3 weeks, then it’s just a bonus!  My husband is due in TOMORROW for his 2 wks of R&R so we’re having a lot of family time while he is here!

Now for the cute-ness!
