Trick or Treat!

My little trick or treaters!

I love my cuties!

It was supposed to rain so we headed to the mall with B, Ryan, Eli and Reagan.... Wade was LOVING his sucker!! Every time he got a piece of candy in his bucket, we had to give it to Haylee to carry, because he tried to stuff it in paper and all. :)

'Fall'bulous, dahling!

Fall is here, and has found it's way into my Computer Lab. I tried to do a good mix of fall type things along with Technology which was a bit of a challenge and of course something new for me this year...

I added leaves to the CD's on the door... (the cd's have all the teacher's names on them)

This one I adapted from one of the teacher's here... It says "'Fall'bulous Computer Programs." Then it lists a few programs... Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Kidpix, etc...

This one says, "Fall into Technology..." :)

I also figured out how to enlarge things in Print Shop so I had some fun blowing things up... These are the hands that show you which finger should type what letter...

This is my behavior rubric that I give to the classroom teacher when she picks up her class that lets her know about their behavior. I like having a visual reminder for the students...

I also started a new incentive by having a contest between the boys and the girls with the winner earning a skittle. I know... big thrills! It does seem to motivate the little ones especially. I even had one kindergarten boy after my "motivational" instructions to be good and to be quiet who very seriously and dramatically said to me, "I can't be quiet, because if I'm quiet, it hurts my tummy!"

Haylee and the Frog

The joys of 1st grade are fully upon us as this mommy realizes that the carefree days of Kindergarten are far, far gone. :)

Haylee's 1st project was due coincidentally one of the days she was out with the flu, but she was able to make it up upon her return... She had to pick an animal, make a 3D model of it and memorize 3 or 4 facts about it to present to her classmates.

She chose to do a frog, and I know that Grandma (with her love of frogs) will be so proud! It was very simple...

... unlike a few of her classmates' projects!!

She had a fabulous time making it and even enjoyed presenting it, I think... Here's a video of her redoing her presentation just for me...

Here's to 12 more years of projects! :)

Harvest Blog Party!

Sherri posted this link to the Harvest Blog Party and I thought I'd throw my hat in! :) You can too!!!

1. What is your favorite thing to snack on while you're blogging?
Hmmm... don't really have a "blogging snack" but these days Sprite zero and something low cal...

2. What is one thing you wouldn't want to live without?
Well, prolly my iphone. It's truly amazing!

3. Beach, Mountains or Farm? Where would you live if you had a choice?
Mountains... love the view and trees, etc. Love the beach too, but living with the sand would get old!

4. What's your least favorite chore/household duty?
Cleaning the tub! My sweet hubby does it for me sometimes which makes me sooooo happy!

5. Who do people say you remind them of?
Jackie O... The high cheekbones and prominent chin does it... When I traveled in college I heard it a lot... But really I think I have one of those faces. I feel like people are always telling me I look like someone they know...

6. Prefer parties and socializing or staying at home with the fam?
This is a hard one because I love to do both! Partying with a people you can be yourself with is the BEST... but staying in with my hunny and vegging on the couch can be pretty cool too...

7. What's your all time favorite movie?
I am not a fan of making all these choices! Making decisions gives me inner turmoil, ha! Okay, lemme think... My favorite in high school was Wild Hearts Can't be Broken...

Also love Princess Bride and epic kind of movies like Emma and Jane Eyre. Chris would rather stab his eye out than sit through a Romance movie where they speak with an English accent! :)

8. Do you sleep in your make up or remove it like a good girl every night?
Never ever remove it... guess I'm not a good girl!

9. Do you have a hidden talent or a deep desire to learn something that you've never had a
chance to learn? What is it?
Just was talking about this today since we were walking on the track after school while the cheerleaders were practicing... I never got to fulfill my "lifelong" dream to be a cheerleader, lol! We moved from Florida to NC the summer before my 7th grade year to a brand new school that thought cheerleaders were sinful because of the beat in cheers. Poor me! :)

10. What's one strange thing you're really good at?
I don't know if this is "strange" enough, but I think I'm good at "crowd control" with kiddos. I like to come up with little things to get them excited about good behavior... :) Most of us will control our urges if we can win something, you know!
My hubby is amazed at my ability to be online... facebook, google reader, etc AND watch a show with him... I think it's the typical girl thing... We can multi-task much better usually!

11. What first attracted you to your spouse?
Well, I first met him when we were in high school at our church. I thought he was cute, of course, and I loved that he played the guitar and how he talked about his mom.

12. What is something you love to smell?
Brownies!! Mmmmm.... would love me some brownies with walnuts right now!!!!

13. Tell something about you that you know irritates people.
Yikes.... probably a lot of things. I tend to be too analytical... translation... critical of things sometimes. I think it also annoys Chris that I am often reluctant to try new things... I must get that from my mom! :)

14. When you have extra money (HA!) what's the first thing you think to do with it?
It probably changes based on what's going on at the moment... and I guess how much money we're talking about! A little extra maybe shopping and dinner out!

15. Are you a silent laugher or a loud laugher? What makes you laugh the hardest?
Usually silent but occasionally loud... I laugh at my kids a lot, and I can't help but laugh at America's Funniest Home Videos. :)

16. Where is your favorite place to shop?
Love Ross and Target as well as Gap and Banana Republic

17. What's one thing you'd do more often if you had more time?
Have to agree with Sherri and say SCRAPBOOKING! :( Haven't even started Wade's baby book, and not sure it's going to happen before he starts Kindergarten! I do have 5 or 6 finished 12x12 albums to show for my hobby, but not a whole lot recently!

18. Are you a big spender or frugal?
I like to think I'm frugal! I love to find great deals!

19. Who is your favorite character of all time (from a movie or book)? (Can't be real)
Don't think I can pick this one!!!

20. Would you want to be famous?
I don't know... don't think so. I wouldn't like the constant spotlight that celebrities are under... Wouldn't be a fun life...

Okay, I'm done! Now it's your turn! :)
