Prettie Twisted Wednesday (PWC 78)

Time for another Prettie Wednesday Challenge with a twist - this week from one of our newer Prettie Girls Heather!  She is challenging you all to make a card using Red, White & Black - the twist is that you must use glitter on your card!  Fun challenge!! So who's up for winning a $15 coupon to the Paper Pretties Boutique?  Just upload your challenge card to the Weekly Challenge Gallery at Paper Pretties by next Tuesday and you could win!

To give you a little inspiration the Prettie Girls have all taken the challenge and are sharing our twisted color challenge cards today. You should have come here from Christie's blog - that's where you need to start the hop! My card today uses Dreamboat from Paper Pretties.  Do you recognize Luke and Lexi in their 50's sock hop apparel?? Very fun!! :)  I had fun coloring our cute couple and I never mind adding a bit of bling! The center panel is a piece of shimmery cardstock run through the Cuttlebug in a Swiss Dot folder and I added some black rhinestones next to the image panel - you can never have too much sparkle!!

Just so you have all the information you need to plan the big holiday shopping season  . . . Paper Pretties will have be offering 35% off all Thanksgiving and Christmas themed stamped beginning on Thanksgiving (Nov. 26) until the 30th. Happy shopping!

You next stop on the hop is Jana's blog - tell her I said "hi!"

Big Leaves

ETA:  I added ink colors and steps in the card supply list below - just in case you wanted to try them out! :)

It's Monday again already!  I actually love Mondays these days because it's the day we get to see all the beautiful work from the Kitchen Sink Stamps Crew!! :)  Today I have 2 cards for you - both using the new set Multi-Step Big Leaves.  Now I used it today to make some pretty Fall-inspired cards but the great thing about this set is that it goes beyond Fall!  I can't wait to try out the beautiful fern leaf on some projects!

For the first card I used 2 of the leaves to make a random background layer.  We're having Thanksgiving at my house this year and I think I'll make cards similar to this for invitations - better get going though huh??! :)   It was so much fun playing with different color combinations for my leaves!!

Cardstock:  Orange Zest, Vintage Cream, Dark Chocolate (Papertrey Ink), Patterned Paper:  Autumn Blessings (Papertrey Ink), Stamps: Multi-Step Big Leaves, Multi-Step Harvest, Ink: Orange Leaf: Step 1: Cantelope, Step 2: Tangelo (Memento), Step 3: Orange Zest (Papertrey Ink), Yellow Leaf: Step 1: Dandelion (Memento), Step 2: Cantelope (Memento), Step 3: Orange Zest (Papertrey Ink), Red Leaf:  Step 1: Lady Bug Red (Memento), Step 2: Rhubarb Stalk (Memento), Step 3: Potter's Clay (Memento), Dark Red Leaf: Step 1: Lady Bug Red, Step 2: Rhubarb Stalk, (Memento) Step 3: Bravo Burgundy (SU!) Brown Leaf: Step 1: Dessert Sand (Memento), Step 2: Potter's Clay (Memento), Step 3: Close To Cocoa (SU!) Accessories:  Nestabilities, Twine, Ribbon, Button (Papertrey Ink), Corner Rounder punch

This next card uses FTL#68 from Clean & Simple Stamping.  The first two leaves are from Multi-Step Big Leaves, the third, the maple leaf, is from Multi-Step Autumn Squirrel.  I've seen some pretty cards lately using a varegated color scheme so I gave it a try here - going from the lighter color (Summer Sun), to Orange Zest to Riding Hood Red - so festive don't you think?!  The sentiment didn't photograph well, but I embossed it using gold embossing powder (to pick up the gold brad) and then added a scored line on either side for some ooomph!

The sentiment is from Multi-Step Harvest - love those two fonts!!

Cardstock:  Dark Chocolate, Orange Zest, Vintage Cream (Papertrey Ink), Summer Sun, Riding Hood Red (SU!),  Stamps:  Multi-Step Big Leaves, Multi-Step Autumn Squirrel, Multi-Step Harvest (Kitchen Sink Stamps), InkYellow Leaf:  Step 1 Dandelion (Memento), Step 2, Summer Sun (SU!), Step 3: So Saffron (SU!) Happy Prettie Wednesday!  These weeks just fly by don't they?  Owen was 1 month old yesterday - I can't quite believe it, wasn't he born just last week??  Anyway, today's Prettie Wednesday challenge comes from Jana - you are to make a card using only shades of blue (with black/white for neutrals if needed).  Upload your card in the Weekly Challenge Gallery at Paper Pretties by next Tuesday for your chance to win a $15 coupon to the Paper Pretties Boutique.

Multi-Step Christmas Lights

Good morning!  We're home safe and sound after a wonderful weekend in Pennsylvania at Stamping Around PA!  Seriously, I think this was our best event yet - the location, the people, the projects . . . just fabulous!!  And since today is Kitchen Sink Stamps Monday I am going to share my class projects with you.  My class was generously sponsored by KSS.  We used Multi-Step Christmas Lights and took a more basic approach in the class.  Since many attendees had never used Kitchen Sink Stamps (but we did have several loyal KSS customers who were most helpful to the other attendees!) we made each card step-by-step so that everyone could master the technique of multi-step stamping.  Everyone's cards came out so great!

So here are the three cards we made.  On this first card we stamped the bulbs on scrap paper (good way to practice!) and then cut them out and added them to our card using foam adhesive.  The bulbs also have a layer of Glossy Accents added to make them shine!

For the second card we stamped the Step 1 solid image of the bulb on the card base to create a "background."  Then used the tiny little solid light bulb stamp to make a little string of lights around the sentiment.  For the string I simply drew that in first in pencil, stamped the lights and then traced over the pencil with a brown marker.

The final card was pretty simple again but gave us great practice multi-step stamping!  I love the look of the pretty line of colored bulbs.  To add the silver cording I poked holes above the bulbs and threaded the cording in and out.

I have to run now, but I'll pop back later and add the color recipes for the bulbs!  Have a wonderful Monday!  Be sure to visit the other KSS Crew members for more holiday inspiration!!
