Brittany Murphy, who starred in such films as Just Married and Sin City died on Sunday after going into cardiac arrest, the Los Angeles Times reported.
She was 32.
The paper said the Los Angeles Fire Department responded to "a medical request" at Murphy's home in West Hollywood, and took her to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center near Beverly Hills, where she was pronounced dead.
The death was first reported by online gossip site TMZ.
A Los Angeles judge has told Lindsay Lohan she must attend weekly alcohol classes, Us Weekly report.
The actress is currently on probation for a drink-driving charge and has been reminded the weekly education sessions she was told to take as part of her punishment must take priority in her life.
"This has to be a top priority whether she has a job somewhere else or doesn't or something else comes up. This has to be done once a week," Judge Marsha Revel explained.
"Right now, the other things will take second place and this will take first place. I am going to order that this has to be done. It's been long enough."
Jessica Simpson has slammed reports that she had an affair with Tiger Woods.
Tabloids claimed the pair have been in contact since meeting at the AT&T National Pro AM Tournament in July but Simpson quickly took to her Twitter blog to deny the rumours. "Can't believe that I'm on the cover of Star magazine with Tiger Woods, what a JOKE!” Simpson tweeted.
"'The Shocking Inside Story' is (insert drum roll) A LIE!"
"Literally the only thing that's true in the story is the fact that they met," Simpson's spokesman later told E! Online. "It was a quick meeting, and they posed for a photo together - that was it. Jessica's lawyer is sending them a letter this afternoon."
Katy Perry and Robert Pattinson spent the night flirting with each other at a mutual friend's birthday party.
The singer - who is dating comedian Russell Brand - and the actor were at Dimples Supper Club in Burbank, California, and onlookers say they "only had eyes for each other". Radar Online says the pair, "Sat face-to-face, touching foreheads and acting very flirty with each other. They were both giggling and Katy looked positively giddy!"
It is not the first time Katy and Robert - who has an on/off romance with his 'Twilight' co-star Kristen Stewart - have been to the karaoke venue together. A staff member said, "They came here last year and every time she comes he seems to follow."
Although she seemed quite smitten with Robert, Katy did manage to find time to take to the microphone. She belted out a Christmas track on the karaoke machine and when she and her friends took to the stage for the last song of the night, they weren't impressed with the DJ's choice of Pink's So What.
She started shouting, "Wrong song! No! We don't like Pink."
However, her pleas were ignored and she eventually gave up and she and her friends sang along. At the end of the evening, Katy, Robert and a friend all left for home in the singer's Audi.
Emily Blunt's body was left numb from filming The Young Victoria.
The actress, who plays the former British monarch Queen Victoria in the period film, has revealed the corsets she wore were so restrictive she couldn't feel her body during shooting. She said, "I learned how to survive when they lace you tight. It takes getting used to. You must inhale so your rib cage expands. This way, after you're all done up you can have room to breathe. After a day's shooting, I'd instantly put on sweat pants. I needed something comfy. I needed to feel my inner organs working again!"
However, one thing she did enjoy about the period outfits was that she didn't have to wear high heels. Emily added, "We wore flats under those huge, voluminous gowns, which, in fact, they actually did in the early period. They wore ballet boots."
