Break me off a piece of that Kit Kat bar...

Hey everyone, thanks for all the love and prayers over the last month. I have been truly touched by all the emails, calls, and cards I have received. You guys are awesome.

I wanted to take a moment to let you know that I'll be taking a break from design work for the next few months, so I probably won't be posting here much. I certainly am not giving up stamping...I love it too much! But I need a break, and want to spend some much-needed time with my family for a while. With all that has happened physically, I really have come to realize that I need to take some time and focus on getting myself healthy so I can properly take care of all the people I love so much. I didn't end up having surgery, but am still in quite a bit of pain. It's my understanding that the healing process will take several months...no fun! But my goal is to be healthier and better...hey, I've already lost 20 lbs! *woohoo!*

Anyway, I love you all, and hope you'll be back to visit me in January. Hugs!

Thanks, y'all, and yes, I'm alive!!

Hey y'all, I just wanted to hop on real quick to say I got home from the hospital on Friday of last week and am recovering quite nicely. The first part of the week was rough, but I'm up and moving around better now. Thanks for all of your thoughts, prayers, emails, cards, and EVERYTHING! Y'all are the best :)

I was hoping to feel up to stamping today, but so far, no luck there. I'm still not very comfortable sitting up for long periods, and twisting and bending isn't the most fun. So I don't have a project for the Serendipity October Challenge for you yet, but I promise I will in the next few days, k?

While you're waiting, you can check out the Serendipity Blog and the rest of my SSDT teammates for some amazing Holiday gift ideas!

From the land of Blynkin and Nod...

Hey y'all...yes, it's me...sorry I haven't been around lately. I came home Saturday night from Waco, and we had some awesome classes at Crop Paper Scissors. Exhausted, we all rolled into bed and off I went. But at about 4 am on Sunday monring, I woke up with horrifficccccccckkkk abdominal pain. I couldn't stand or breathe, so we went to the Emercency room. They admitted me to the emergency department and did CT Scans and test. The results aren't really in yet, but it looks like a bad infection in my abdomen. Since then I've run fever of up to 103.1, and have enjoyed  lots of bending and stretching (ICK!!) I'm finally allowed to eat ice, so that's good.

Anyway, I'm not sure yet if I'll have to have to have surgery, but stay tuned and I'll let you know as soon as I find out, ok?
Either way, I'd appreciate your prayers...I'm a very sick girl. Thanks:

Crazy laughter in another room...and she drove herself to madness with a silver spoon...

Happy Friday, y'all! How was your week? Mine was great! I'm excited to be headed to Waco tonight...my sister and I will get to have dinner and hang out tonight, and then class tomorrow. I'm so looking forward to it!

Anywho, I can't believe it's already time for another Bellariffic Friday, can you? This week's challenge was to create a Fall or Halloween card. Turns out, I only have one Halloween stamp from Bella, so I didn't have to waste too much time trying to decide on an image. I think I need to remedy that, don't you? Also, we're welcoming a new Bella Babe to our crazy bunch. Say hi to Jeanie Witmer! You will love her stuff, so go check it out and say hi, k?

Ok, enough blabbing, here's my card:

This card was so easy to make. I spent more time coloring than anything else! But what else is new...anyway, I stamped Little Witchy in Brilliance Graphite Black onto Bella's Bestest Paper, then colored her with Prismacolor pencils and Odorless Mineral Spirits. Then I cut and embossed the image and a black scalloped mat with Oval Nestabilities.

Next I decided to create a patterned paper using the Spoooooky sentiment, so I cut a piece of Kraft cardstock and stamped the word repeatedly in Memento Tuxedo Black. I used my Stampamajig to line them all up just right, and then I swiped the ink pad along the edges to make them stand out against the white card base. I adhered it to the card base on an angle. Then I cut a 2" strip of Orange Citrus Double Dot paper from Bo Bunny and punched the edge with the EK Success Dotted Scallop edger punch. I adhered that across the bottom part of my card, then tied a piece of 5/8" black twill ribbon around the top edge of the layer. Finally, I popped the main image up on pop dots to give the card a bit of dimension.

Well, that's about it for me today! To see some more eye candy for this week's challenge, visit Emily's Blog later today. And don't forget to comment on her post for a chance to win some Bella Bucks, k? I hope you have a wonderful weekend...thanks for coming by to see me!

When my world is shaking...Heaven stands...

Morning, everyone! Ok, so it's not morning anymore. Scratch that. Happy Thursday! *giggle* Don't know why, but I'm in a seriously silly mood today.

I just wanted to squeeze in these cards for those that haven't seen them on my Events page...these are the cards we will be doing in the Advanced Copic class on Saturday at Crop-Paper-Scissors in Waco. If you haven't signed up yet, there's still time! Go for it...I'd love to see you!

This card features Polly Packages...love her!

Next up is Patricia Birthdaycake...quite possibly one of my favorite images of the Chichiboulie line. She's soooo pretty and delicate!

And finally, Eloise Greengrass. I colored her in a little more non-traditional colors, but while I was looking at her dress, I decided her skirt should be made of leaves.

I gotta run...I have a ton to do before I'm ready to head out of town tomorrow (including my Fall/Halloween themed Bellariffic Friday card!). If you're coming, drop me a note here or in my email, k? Can't wait!
