Three CAS Christmas Cards
These all use the cutest little sentiment set for Christmas I've ever seen. It's from Papertrey Ink and was only $15. I'll be getting a lot of used from these since I love the hand written look. Just maybe some of the people I send these cards to will think it's my handwriting!

Today I gave faux texture with copic blending solution a try and have to say I like the results. For this card I used the same texture but next time I'll play with different fabrics to acheive more pronouced effects. I colored my images as usual with my copics, being sure to saturate the paper. After I finished I soaked a scrap piece of twill tape in the blending solution and dabbed on my images. Because copic ink is alcohol based it dries very fast. I had to resoak the fabric often.

Today's CAS challenge over at Splitcoast was a sketch. I love a sketch challenge and it doesn't get much easier than this! I used the tag (part of an Etsy minibook kit) to stamp part of the sentiment and then used a little scrap of the Basic Gray DP. Add some ribbon and a little button then you've got yourself a card.
This is a great example of how to use scraping supplies for card making. The sentiment is from an Ali Edwards collection of stamps I love to use for titles. It was time for their debut into the world of cards!  Happy Halloween!
Here are a few things I made this year for Halloween. I'm too busy finishing last minute costume creation for details but wanted to spread a little cheer with a photo. I hope you all have a safe and fun Halloween!  Got Tunes?
Remember making mixed tapes? That's what I thought of when I looked through the Boyfriend mat pack from Comso Cricket. For my submission to week two of the Torendi Design Team search I made this CD holder using some of that great paper with cassette tapes on it. The idea is to take 10 songs that seem to be in constant rotation on my iPod for Fall and document it. I'll do this for each of the four seasons through next summer and place these decorated albums into a 6x6 album sleeve with a page. I love the idea of combining scrapbooking and music for memory sake, both take me back to a specific time and place...now they are married into one.
I used a sheet of paper cut 12 " x 5 1/2" and scored at 2" & 7 1/4" to make the pocket. I slipped small magnetic closures under the paper of the flap and opening of the pocket to ensure it stays sealed, plus it makes a cool snap sound :) I think using your own hand writing is special so I covered the back with the songs. The other unique thing with this CD jacket is the base of the tag. It's a very thin strip of wood veneere which adds a little something special in real life since the feel of the wood on the tag is unexpected. The CD is decorated with a doodle stamp from Autumn Leaves, stazon ink is perfect for this.
