It's been a long time, hasn't it? I'm not sure any of you will even remember me, or care that I'm back (sort of). Motherhood and real life have taken over and my life as a novelist has been on the back burner. But, I miss writing...A LOT, so I've decided to revamp and re-release my story blog about the Houghton family. This is a soap opera style blog that is sure to keep you coming back for more.

On the third novel front, I have to be completely honest, nothing is happening. I just couldn't finish, but the promise of Unraveling is so great that I know I will one day. I set to finish my Masters in December 2010, then I'll have more time..I hope!
I have some news for everyone. The novel that I'm working on, Unraveling, has been slated for a February 2010 release! I'm very excited, as I think this is my best piece of work yet, but I'm a little nervous that I won't be able to finish on time. My editor at Genesis needs the manuscript on or before February 1, 2009. I know that seems like a long time from now, but with two rambunctious boys, a brand new baby, and going back to work full time, February 1st seems like it's right around the corner.
On another note I'm hoping to add a website to my author marketing arsenal. I want something with has excerpts from my books, a section to find my book trailers, as well as a section for aspiring writers. I wish I had time for a podcast (I am completely addicted to them) but I don't. I can't afford to commission someone to design a custom website, so I'm pretty much on my own. I won't put one out that doesn't look professional and that may mean that it'll be awhile before there's a website that accompanies this blog.

Things Forbidden is a wonderful book. The relationship between Terrence and Yvette is the main plot, but there are at least 4 or 5 subplots that are going on simultaneously. Maryam Diaab does an excellent job of connecting them all and keeping the story flowing. You will also go through the entire gamut of emotions while reading this book. You will find yourself drawn to the characters and rooting for your relationship of choice to succeed. You will also get angry with the other characters for getting in the way. Thing Forbidden is just an all around good read.

I'm writing again and I can't believe it! Unraveling is so good that I get caught up in the story myself and forget that I'm supposed to be writing and not reading. I can't wait to finish, although I know that it will be awhile. I'll be updating the sidebar with my progress, so far I am 36.1% complete. I'm going to work on my paragraph synopsis so I can post it here and give you guys a sneak peak.

By the way, my pregnancy induced ADD seems to be lifting. Maybe I'll start writing again soon. I need to finish Unraveling and get back into the groove of my writers group. It'll be easier once my oldest goes back to school on Tuesday. You know what? I'm going to set a goal, right now, and all of you are my witnesses. Beginning Tuesday, September 2, 2008, I will write everyday for at least 30 minutes. I mean as much as the baby sleeps that should be too difficult. Right???
