A gorgeous day here,

it's actually too hot for me to sit in the sun. Went for my 3 monthly check up this morning with my hematology/oncologist and was sad to hear that he is retiring at Christmas. He has been my specialist since that dreadfully scary day in November of 2001 and right now I can't imagine this journey without him. Saying thankyou to him this morning just doesn't seem to be enough for all he has done, with his usual wry sense of humour he assured me his colleague who's replacing him is much nicer...I doubt that could be possible.
Apart from that I'm torn between going and doing something in my scrap-room or stacking the new shelves with the linen....mmmm, decisions decisions.
My room is now together so I can actually do something, sat in there one afternoon last weekend and actually started something. I think my trouble at the moment is that i have so many ideas going around in my head I don't know where to start.
Gus seems to be a bit better today, still wheezing way more than I like but he seems happy in himself so that's a good thing.
Well....might go print some piccys it would be a start.
PS. The picture was taken in a gorgeous little French Cafe in Queenstown, it's Les Alpes, and we went there for breakfast before returning home last Friday. It was totally authentic and everywhere you looked there was something that you just wanted LOL.
PPPS. Hope the girls away to the Queenstown Retreat scrapbooking weekend have a wonderful time....so wish I was there.

It's been so long...

since I've blogged. Life has been very different over the last few months. We have had a new roof put on the house and we have been re-organising the house, the front lounge now has new curtains, cushions have been made and the couch has been covered. My scrap room is actually set up now and I can work in there, it just seems at the moment that I don't have time. I did make a start on a book the other day but somehow or another there always seems to be something else I need to do.
I'm not complaining mind you, I'm loving all the "house stuff" going on.
Last week we spent the week in Queenstown, I love that place and we drove for miles, spent time in Arrowtown, Cromwell, Clyde, Wanaka and even went to Glenorchy.
All of these places are so gorgeous, the buildings are, on the whole, old and original, but they have restored them to make them useable and give you an idea how early New Zealand was. The scenery is breathtaking and somehow you feel so relaxed.
A few of these little places also have some very cool little shops with some very tempting pieces, I succumbed to some very gorgeous coffee cups and matching cake tin.
And then of course there are all the cafe's and restaurants. Some of the places we went in Queenstown were absolutely amazing. From Pier 19 on the Queenstown steamer wharf to the most adorably french cafe we had breakfast in before coming home they were all wonderful.
However now it's back to reality and my poor Gus is not very well, had him to the vet this afternoon and he seems to be suffering from chest congestion...(who knew cats could be affected by this), anyway he has medicine and I hope the poor wee man feels better soon. He's had a rough time that's for sure, being beautiful certainly comes at a price for him that's for sure.
Anyway on that note must go check on him.
PS> The photo was taken in gorgeous Arrowtown, one of the beautiful wee restored cottages on the main street.

It's been ages....

since I've blogged but life's been really hectic.
The roofers arrived last Monday morning and now we finally have a gorgeous new roof, just a bit of finishing to do(hopefully soon), the scaffolding is still up so they'll want to get rid of that pretty soon I guess. You know the old saying "One thing leads to another", well now we are waiting for a quote to have a window and a few boards replaced....we are on a roll.
Have been really busy at work, still doing reception as well as restaurant shifts so I find when I'm home I'm pretty shattered so still haven't been able to get into my scrap room and set it up. I stand in the middle of it, look around at all the stuff that's in there till we find it another home, roll my eyes and walk away.
Sadly it's really starting to affect me that I can't just sit down and play and chill out so I'm going to have to make a start. Also I need to start on Christmas stuff as well as do an album celebrating all the work around the house.
Gus has been hilarious while all the work has been going on, I planned to put him in a cattery while the roof was being done but they didn't warn us they were coming so he was here the whole time. I had to keep him inside because of flying tin and the poor wee man was terrified to begin with, so on the first day Faye put his carrier basket in my room and covered it with two duvets, leaving him an opening to come and go, clever wee man that he is he climbed in and went to sleep.
The next day as soon as the noise started he ran and sat beside my bed waiting for his "safe place", he's such a cool dude that's for sure.
Was just on Scrapbook Outlet's site and was blown away by the latest work on there, wow there are some hugely talented people on that site, the work is amazing.
It's such a grey horrible day today and they are promising snow....so much for spring.
However that's about it in my world at the moment, and considering everything that's probably enough.

My new scrapbooking/creative space (part 1)

Yeah I'm looking for inspiration.

My Scrapbook Room
