Hello friends. It's been a while since I blogged or even really crafted. I got a horrible flu bug the first day of CHA and I've been down ever since. I'm finally today feeling human enough to get a quick project done and posted.
It's time again for another month in my desktop calendar. I always have fun coming up with designs that will fit in the small space I have to create in. For this month I used a really fun Mask & Stencil Set
along with 2 stamp sets
by Leonie Pujol
for Crafter's Companion
I took the stencils and placed it down on the page. Then I blended some Picked Raspberry
and Wilted Violet
Distress Inks over the mask. Next I stamped the little images with black ink. Once done stamping, I removed the stencil mask to reveal the most perfect "Love" sentiment. I love how this turned out!
I added a few bright pink rhinestones
and a piece of washi tape
in the corner for added texture and interest. That's it! These stencils and stamp really are a load of fun to create with. Check out all the different stencil and stamp sets over at Crafter's Companion HERE

With all the fun adult coloring going on lately, I wanted to show how beautifully these new markers work on a Spectrum Noir Colorista Premium Marker Pads
from Crafter's Companion
. I picked a page from the Exquisite Florals Pad
with colourable glitter.
WOW...right?!!! I love blending and shading...and with the brush nib on these new markers it's so much easier. BONUS -- the OTHER end of the marker is a super-fine nib. Absolutely amazing for coloring in the smaller areas and creating fine details.
Here are a couple pics I snapped during my coloring process.
Lori's Adult Coloring Tip
My tip if you are a newbie to adult coloring is to start by coloring the most familiar item (to you) on the page. For instance...I started coloring the leaves. I knew I was going to color the leaves green, and they were easy for me to pick out. You don't have to color all of them, just something to get you started with coloring. Next I decided I wanted to use a particular color - Aqua. So I picked out a blend of marker colors I liked, and then colored some areas. Just random areas that I felt like coloring. It's really easy once you get going.
Now...what to do with my finished page? I might cut it up and make a few cards - or maybe create a box from the page. hummmm....
Have a beautiful day my friends,

Hello friends. I've been away from blogging for almost the entire month of December. And now we are 1 week into January of 2017. MAN does time fly. I hope you are all doing well and had a nice holiday.
Here's my last calendar page for my 2016 Calendar Project.
I hope I've inspired you to make your own calendar for 2017.
I diecut the Snowflake Trio dies
from the Crafter's Companion - Sara Davies Signature Collection - Festive Wonder
using a Stick-It adhesive sheet
(no paper...just the adhesive). Then I carefully removed 1 side of the release paper from the die-cuts and placed on the page. Before removing the top release paper, I lightly sponged blue ink around the snowflakes. After removing the top release paper to expose the sticky adhesive, I covered the snowflakes with crystal microfine glitter. Oh MAN is it ever sparkly.
The little house (which I'm sure on the inside was decorated beautifully for Christmas 😉) and trees are pieces that I snipped off of the Scenic Borders Die Set
from Crafter's Companion Contemporary Christmas Collection
. I also added some white snow "dots" using a white gel pen, and a few light blue rhinestone gems. I just love how clean, cool and simple this page turned out.
Here's all the pages from my 2016 Desktop Calendar:
Thanks for stopping by!
