The 12 Days of Christmas Faithbooking Challenge - Part 9 of 12

Thank you for joining us for our Christmas Faithbooking Challenge! This year, our theme is "The 12 Days of Christmas". We've all heard this song growing up, but I never realized that each verse of the song also had a Biblical meaning. So, over the next few weeks, we will be exploring the Biblical meanings of each verse of the song and you are to create a layout which shows what it means to you.

Each week you will be presented with the traditional verse, it's Biblical meaning, and a free mini kit that you can use to create your layout. You are not required to use the kit, but it's being made available to you as a free gift for a limited time only. After the 12 weeks are over, you should have a reminder that you can share with your family every Christmas as to what the Biblical meanings are for "The 12 Days of Christmas"!

This week's challenge is hosted by Digital Compilations by Cinda and Dielle Designs

9th Day: The "nine ladies dancing" were the nine fruits of the Holy Spirit found in Galatians 5:22-23: Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control.

On the ninth day of Christmas,
my true love sent to me
Nine ladies dancing,
Eight maids a-milking,
Seven swans a-swimming,
Six geese a-laying,
Five golden rings,
Four calling birds,
Three French hens,
Two turtle doves,
And a partridge in a pear tree.

This week you will get 2 mini kits!

This week's challenge is hosted by Audra's Little Scraps

8th Day: The "eight maids a milking " reminded children of the eight beatitudes listed in the Sermon on the Mount. (as told in the book of Matthew)

Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are the meek: for they shall possess the land.
Blessed are they who mourn: for they shall be comforted.
Blessed are they that hunger and thirst after justice: for they shall have their fill
Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy
Blessed are the clean of heart: for they shall see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.
Blessed are they that suffer persecution for righteousness' sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven

On the eighth day of Christmas,
my true love sent to me
Eight maids a-milking,
Seven swans a-swimming,
Six geese a-laying,
Five golden rings,
Four calling birds,
Three French hens,
Two turtle doves,
And a partridge in a pear tree.

This kit is available free for a limited time click HERE or on the picture.

FlowerKris, please tell us a bit about you.

Who am I? I am a wife, mom, daughter, sister, believer, chef, taxi, super-mom… I live with my husband, Larry in Small Town Arizona, Chino Valley, a town in a valley in the mountains of northern Arizona. We both went to high school here and were high school sweethearts. We moved back when our oldest was just a baby to raise our children here. Now, we have 5 AMAZING children (Shelby - 11, Griffen -7, Elwyn - 5, Berlyn - 3 and Rowan - 2). I homeschool my children, work from home for both my digi-designs and as a freelance in advertising and website design and am a full-time college student. I have worked in Scrapbooking direct sales, been published, worked for several scrapbooking product manufacturers but, digital is my true calling. We go to an AMAZING church, have FANTASTIC family and friends and are truly blessed in our lives.

FlowerWhat are some of the life lessons that scrapbooking has taught you?

You can never make a mistake in scrapbooking, whether it is paper or digital. You can always cover it up with something else. Mistakes happen in both scrapbooking and in everyday life– so, I have learned – don’t sweat the small stuff.

FlowerWhen did you start digital scrapbooking, designing and what made you get into it?

I have worked in advertising and website design since 1998 when my oldest daughter was born. At that time, I really started paper scrapbooking her baby pictures. I worked as a team captain for a direct sales company for several years and when that company closed, I joined with another one who was just stepping into the whole digital scene. After that second company closed down, I starting designing my own line of digital scrapbooking. It all made perfect sense since I already was heavily involved in digital elements for work and God opened my door again by closing companies. So, I have been digital designing for just over a year now.

FlowerWhat inspires you to create your designs?

God has blessed us with so many topics and so much beauty in His world. I am surrounded by so many AMAZING colors in my life and 5 fantastic children where topics run like a river from them. I think just those colors and items that are important to me and my family is where I see each new kit.

There is a saying that I always tell my children – He wants you to paint, He wants you to sing, He wants you to soar (I have that written up on my paper scrapping classroom wall). I have been telling my kids that for years. I honor God by doing just that.

FlowerCan you share your favorite scrapbooking or design tip with our Faith Sisters?

YOU CAN DO IT! I have learned SO MANY techniques just by playing with different programs, using different products and mixing and matching. Be 100% yourself, and create layouts that fit you, not what others expect to see. With digital, you can work on layouts for 5 minutes or 5 hours and never have to worry about the kitchen table not being cleared off.

FlowerHow do you find the time to do so many wonderful designs?

I am an EXTREMELY fast designer. I jot down my thoughts in my sketch book – colors, thoughts on the specific kits and elements and I reference this book as I design. I am currently taking drawing for my art degree as well, so I am learning better techniques to make my designs streamline even faster. I work at all different hours, around work, kids and school.

ClaudiWhat is your favorite scripture verse?

My favorite script - Genesis 9:13 - “I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth.

We are surrounded my beauty that God has blessed us with. The rainbow is one of God’s most colorful and beautiful pieces of art. I am in awe every time that I see one in the sky.

The following are some of her favorite products in her shop, right now 50% off!

And now, here are some freebies from Kris, just for you!
