This project is a Thanksgiving Thank You tote decorated all in Purple Onion Design stamps. (Another thing I have to be grateful for. Thanks to Michele, I get to play along with her & her amazing Design Team for the Holidays!) It's a large tote: 4.5 inches high 8 inches wide 2 inches deep (front to back)

I can't get enough of punching this little tree in shapes (it's so sweet with scallop circles/squares...cut free-hand into rectangles/triangles.) I've gone over the top with beading on this, but you can make a lovely little tree--or a whole forest--in minutes. :o)
Mo's Skating pictorial: heat embossed paper piecing & fake french knot snowDear Subscribers, SO sorry for the extra double email post this morning. I'm sleep deprived LOL. First off, you guys give me too much credit! You may be very happy to know that these are not french knots. They're plain old knots with embroidery thread and you'd be surprised how quick & easy they are (all the details are at the bottom of this pictorial) :o) 1...heat embossed paper piecing Mo's Digital images 2...cheap tricks (fake french knots for snow) ...and now for my #1 addiction: paper piecing Mo's stunning images -1- ![]() heat-embossed paper piecing with Mo's Digital Images: (If you'd like to see a larger picture please click the photos) (listed in the instructions) :o) making the paper piece layers: THE IMAGE ("Skating" from Mo's Digital Pencil) is embossed from my printer on Incandescent cardstock from Paper Temptress [using clear embossing powder & a heat gun (just print, sprinkle e.p. quickly when it comes out of the printer & heat set.] BELLA's COAT: BasicGrey patterned paper Urban Prairie Paper: Petticoat--shaded with Prismacolour pencil crayons. The bottom of her coat (on the main image) is stitched with a row of turquoise embroidery thread. COLOURING... is all done with Copic markers since the Incandescent paper needs the permanence of them. It gives it a really unique sparkle. This weather here is playing along with this month's Mo's Dream Team Challenge--which I get to host today (Yay!!!) Mo's Digital Pencil It's "precipitation inspiration!" teehee. Make a card with a Mo image & snow or rain (or water...) LOL Hope you can play along with us!!! I love rain, but I'm from Ontario, originally, where it really snows winters, so... Here's that tutorial for the Angel's Landing card posted this morn' Hope you enjoyed the hop & Thanks so much for checking this out! Step 1) Cut a circle of cardstock & cover it with patterned paper: (this circle is 4 3/4 inches in diameter to fit a 5 1/2 inch card) Step 2) Make a stitched butterfly trail: 2A) Use the Angel's Landing "flight-trail-left" (from the new Button Bugs set) as a piercing template by: --printing it at 120% on copy paper. --laying it over the circle and piercing through into your image. --Then, stitching with needle & thread or faux stitches. (I added the flower on my image as an anchor for where I wanted the trail, since my paper pieces are in panels & I wanted them to run diagonally...) 2B) Pierce & stitch around the outside of the circle. (I used thread that matched the Kraft background.) Step 3) Print different sizes of the Simply Flowers (also from Angel's Landing). This paper (from GCD Studios Paris Nights collection is one of three kinds of cardstocks on this card that lets you emboss from the printer.) I printed the flowers in gray--in hopes that the butterfly would stand out more--and quickly sprinkled clear embossing powder on (as soon as the paper came out of my printer,... More Recent Articles |
