Today is America Recycles Day, which is the only day nationally recognized to encourage people to recycle.  For the past eleven years, this date has been celebrated across the country  increase awareness of recycling at our home and business.  (See here as to events in your area.)  As the world has evolved, isn’t it time to consider changing this day to America Reuse or Reduce Day encouraging us to reduce and reuse rather than just recycle?  Shouldn’t recycling be the last resort?

NJ Residents: Recycle your Unwanted or Expired Medication Nov 14, 2009

operation medicine cabinet

On November 14, New Jersey residents have the opportunity to clean out their medicine cabinets of unwanted and/or expired medication through the OperationMedicineCabinetNJ.com program from 10 am to 2 pm.  According to the program,

“Every day 2,500 youth age 12 to 17 abuse a pain reliever for the very first time. More teens abuse prescription drugs than any illicit drug except marijuana. I love consignment shops.  Some of my best consignment purchases have been for special occasions.  Think about it.  How many times do you wear the same dress to an event?  When I saw an article in a local magazine about InStyleBelly, an online consignment shop for the chic  swelling belly set, I remember how much I spent on my own maternity wardrobe over a decade ago.

Let’s face it.   You only wear prego clothes for a certain amount of time and then you need to move onto the next size to fit that swelling bump.  When you are pregnant,   you have to buy work clothes, play clothes, and perhaps a nice dress or two.  When all said and done, you...
