$8000 Tax Credit ExtendedSenate leaders are negotiating to EXTEND and gradually reduce an $8,000 TAX CREDIT for first-time homebuyers through 2010! Lawmakers are under pressure from real estate agents, mortgage brokers and homebuilders to extend the $8,000 credit before it expires Nov. 30. First-time homebuyers who close before April 1 would get the full $8,000, and the credit’s value would be reduced by $2,000 in each successive quarter until expiring at the end of the year. The program is aimed at easing the worst housing slump since the Great Depression. ![]() Foods to boost imunity (Help fight against H1N1)As you prepare for the fall flu season by getting a flu shot, stocking up on hand sanitizing gel and decreasing your doorknob exposure, consider bolstering your immune system’s ability to fight viruses — including H1N1 swine flu — by adding certain foods to your diet. “We’re not sure of all the reasons why our bodies break down, but we do know that food can absolutely help to build us up,” says Bonnie Taub-Dix, R.D., spokesperson for the American Dietetic Association and weight-loss expert in New York City. “It’s so important to prevent illness to begin with by getting enough rest, exercising regularly, following a healthy diet and not skipping meals. These are sure-fire ways to help boost your immune system,” she says. “There’s no single food that will do the trick,” she says. “Variety is important.” Here, Taub-Dix’s top foods for flu season. Garlic
Yogurt and Kefir
In a recent study, probiotic bacteria was actually found to increase the body’s immune response to viruses that cause common infections like colds and flus by boosting T-cell production. Yogurt is also high in vitamin D, says Taub-Dix. A separate study found low levels of vitamin D to be associated with a heightened risk for respiratory infections like the flu. Brazil Nuts
Tea
Lean Protein
Citrus Fruits
If you do begin experiencing flu-like symptoms see your doctor. “Even though I believe that eating these foods regularly can help you stay healthy, they’re not a substitute for seeing your health care provider for proper medication when needed,” Taub-Dix says. ![]() 10 years old witha big message to the world!A must see! Our Greatest Fear —Marianne Williamsonit is our light not our darkness that most frightens us
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous,
Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There’s nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We were born to make manifest the glory of
It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine,
As we are liberated from our own fear,
