Chapter Meeting at Arts Worcester

We had a small turn out but a good meeting at the Arts Worcester gallery in the pouring rain. We worked on the sanded Colourfix surface on gessoboard with colored pencils and solvent. Our subjects were various sized marbles. Here are our drawings in progress.

Arts Worcester has a beautiful gallery space and they were most helpful and accommodating to our chapter. I am going to send the director a disk of colored pencil images from our chapter for a possible chapter exhibit in 2010. I might be contacting members to send me additional samples of their work.

Thanks to all who attended!

DC 112 Chapter Meeting - Next Saturday, Oct. 3

Our next chapter meeting will be next Saturday, October 3 at 11 a.m.
At:
Arts Worcester, Gallery at the Aurora
660 Main Street, Worcester, MA 01610
www.artsworcester.org
Currently on display at the Aurora: Viva el Arte 2009 - an exhibition of contemporary Latin American art and culture (see painting above).

This space is right in the city so we will have to look for parking. Look for a municipal lot in which to park. (There are some good suggestions in our recent newsletter.)

Our agenda!
We will be working on Colourfix Primer on the gessoboard surface. I will have a project ready for us to try. Bring drawing pencil, eraser, small flat or round brush (to use with odorless solvent), colored pencils & sharpener. Also bring a bag lunch.
Also, we will be looking at Arts Worcester spaces as a potential for a district chapter exhibit.

Please RSVP if you are coming and I haven't already heard from you. I need to have the right amount of supplies!

We Have a Winner!

Congratulations to Holly Bedrosian for winning one of CPSA's top awards at the national exhibition - The Award For Outstanding Achievement! The list keeps growing for our chapter.

This photograph is from the exhibiton at the Hudgens Center for the Arts, where Holly's piece is hanging in the front room by another award winning piece, by Texas artist Linda Lucas Hardy.
