Dino Love Valentines {Rawr = Love in dinosaur!}

 Happy {almost} Valentine's Day my friends! I have a cutie pie dinosaur to share with you today, from Fun Stampers Journey's Dino Love stamp set. I colored him in with colored pencils, and then layered up some patterned paper, cardstock, and corrugated stock to create this card. It is perfect for a little or not-so-little gentleman!

I've probably raved about them before, about a million times, but I am SO in love with the FSJ Journey Color Burst colored pencils. They are like BUTTER. I've used and loved a couple other brands before, but this one takes the CAKE. They're absolutely stunning and so much fun to work with! They layer really nicely, and it's fun to be creative, blending colors together. I used an array of yellows and oranges to color my dino pal.
 I love the black and white striped paper from the Sweet Spring Paper Pack because it adds such a fun pop with the red and yellow on this card. (And I am seriously a sucker for bright colors paired with black/white!!!)
I hope you have a fabulous and fun week - thanks so much for stopping by! I RAWR you! xoxo

There's Always Room for S'More {s'mores gift basket tag}

Do you need a super cute gift idea for a friend or family member? What about a treat basket filled with everything needed for a family s'mores night? Include chocolate, graham crackers, marshmallows, and skewers. And check out this cool graphic with 16 variations of traditional s'mores! You might get some ideas for other creative ideas to add to your basket. What a fun evening in front of the fireplace, or outside by a crackling bonfire!

To create this tag, I used a variety of Fun Stampers Journey and RG supplies. First I diecut the tag, and embossed it. Then I layered on some cozy patterned papers, and corrugated stock for added texture. I stamped the sentiment on a diecut circle, and stamped and trimmed the layers of the s'more. The Always S'more stamp set is so much fun because each layer of the s'more is a different stamp, so you can create and layer together as many pieces as you want - (and BONUS...they're calorie free!)

To finish off the tag, I splattered a little Silk, and added a wooden tree and enamel dots. How cute would this look attached to a basket of s'more goodies?! Check out the list of supplies below, and leave a comment if you have any questions! I hope your February is off to a warm and cozy start! January was such a blur, I feel like NOW is the start of the new year. January was just a practice month. Ya feel me?! Thanks for stopping by my sweet, crafty friends! xoxo

Party Time! {New Years Watercoloring}

Hello dear friends! Are you recovered from the Christmas chaos!? I hope your holiday was merry and bright and full of love! But now...onward to New Years, yes?!

I had fun playing on this card. More watercoloring, I KNOW. I can't stop - I've been telling you this for MONTHS now. On this card, I created some watercolor puddles to paint from, and I added a little silver and gold Silk into the colors, for a little touch of metallic. Then after I colored everything, I added some extra splatters of Silk on top.

If you aren't familiar with the FSJ Silks, picture a nail polish bottle, with a nail polish brush inside. Like THIS, in fact:

But imagine the contents being less thick than nail polish. Thin enough to take that brush and go FLICK onto your project.  FLICK! FLICK! Yessss, it can get messy, but it is SOO worth the risk! I was terrified at first, of ruining my projects. "What if it doesn't go where I want it to?" Well - you do your best. And the more you use them, the better you get at directing it, and going with the flow. Plus it has metallic goodness that gets all stirred up when you give that bottle a shake. You can mix it with watercolor, for a metallic glint. You can brush the Silk onto a stamp and stamp with it. You can paint it right onto a card or project for a brushed background. Lots of cool possibilities and play.

ANYYYYYwhooooo, Silk. New Years. Sparkle. Stamping. All the good stuff. After I stamped and painted this card, I created a die cut frame, added a sentiment, and BAM.

Happy New Year! :)

I'll be doing a bit of traveling during the first part of January, but I'll be BACK later in the month to party with you all, 2017 style. Find me on Instagram or on Facebook and Pinterest, in the meantime!

Merry Christmas {watercolor snowflakes}

Hello dear crafty friends!
I just wanted to say....MERRY almost CHRISTMAS!
I created this colorful snowflake card using the Fun Stampers Journey Pretty Flakes stamp set (SS-0377). I made a large puddle of watercolor, and then stamped the snowflake stamps right into it, and then onto watercolor paper (Journey Color Splash Sheets). (If you missed it, last week I shared another card using this stamp set. Scroll on down after you're done reading, and check that one out! Same stamps - totally different look!)

It's fun to experiment and see what happens when you stamp with watercolor - no two projects ever turn out the same, THAT is for sure! After I stamped the images, I added a little more water to my puddle, and picked up some of the remaining color with a paint brush to paint around the flakes. While it was still wet, I splattered a little Cool Pool Silk for some metallic fun. I love the way the Silk blends and spreads when splattered on a wet surface! So pretty! To finish it all off, I added some dimensional glaze to the snowflakes and sprinkled a little glitter - what snowflakes would be complete without GLITTER? (Generally glitter and I are not friends. But come on - snowflakes HAVE to be glittery!)

I stamped the sentiment onto a vellum diecut oval, and layered it onto a white tag. It adds a little extra layer and dimension, without adding too much busyness to the card. And using the starry paperclip allowed me to not worry about how I would adhere the layers together!

I hope the rest of your holiday season is absolutely BEAUTIFUL! Thanks so much for letting me share a little inspiration, and thanks so much for stopping by today, in the midst of the hustle and bustle! Holiday hugs!! xoxo
