Another college tour today...........

Well, the animals woke me up this morning so I just got up. I got a pretty good night's sleep anyway. Tugie the Toy P got cold and so she woke me up first. Had to get her settled under the covers. Then Smokie came to visit. I think she knows it stirs us up. And it did. So I got up and she immediately ran to the door and wanted outside. It is cold out there. My weatherbug says 44 but it felt colder than that. Probably b/c I had just been in a really warm bed. lol Anyway, the coffee is good this morning!

I have so much to do this weekend. So last night, what did I do? NOTHING! I was just all tired out from such a long/busy week. I played on PC and did 1 load of laundry. Well, I went to Penney's and got my hair trimmed though. So I was later getting home. Hubby fixed "fish and chips" last night. The fish was Gorton's beer battered type fish but the highlight was that Hubby G made the chips (fries) homemade. They were very good.

TheTeen had an away game to cheer for last night. I am sure she was tired after having only 3 hours sleep the night before with the NEW MOON movie. She is not going to want to get up this morning.

I also need to be doing a few things instead writing this blog entry. lol My house needs some serious attention. All over! And it is Christmas decorating weekend. A big grocery weekend. I should not have made the college tour this weekend, I guess, but I had really wanted to get as many done as we could so she could start making some decisions. In many cases early enrollment is to your advantage. We just could not squeeze in Auburn yet. We'll do that in spring. I think that is too far anyway. But she wants to check it out. It's one of the final 4. Anyway today's tour is in KY. We'll tour the college and have lunch with some friends that live there!

Work went ok yesterday. Friday's are filing/cleaning days. So I got that done pretty quickly. Then went to 2nd Harvest and dropped off the canned goods from the canned good drive. I'm a little disappointed in our efforts on that one. Not many participated. A plant of 122 people had only 79 lbs of canned/boxed goods. Anyway, it is at least that much. I did the attendance write ups, processed an FMLA, and sent off life insurance eligibility forms, and started the audit process of our benefits enrollment. So far only 8 people of the 122 are verified. I got the audit kit late in the afternoon. I'll be doing the rest of that on Monday.

Well, I need to get off of here and get a few things done. We have to leave by 8:00 this morning. What are you doing this weekend? And when are you putting up your Christmas decorations?

Babbling with Lots of Coffee..........

Yippie! It's Friday. I am ready to focus on some other things and clear my mind from work. It always amazes me that open enrollment ends on a given Friday but it takes nearly a week still to get forms and information from people. It is usually the same ones every year too. But that race is over now and yesterday, aside from entering some late arriving info on benefits, I processed disability claims and a termination. And spent some time going thru my desk and reorganizing my priorities...and dang...there is a lot to do that has built up. I still have to audit benefits enrollments when the audit package comes and I have to get ready for Tuesday's Thanksgiving meal - mainly shopping for drinks and supplies. Not sure if I will do that today or Monday. Maybe today. I also have to take in the Second Harvest canned goods to the Second Harvest dock today and then attack stuff on my desk. Busy day. So yeah, I'll be glad to focus on something other than work for two days.

Last night TheTeen and McFriend went to see NEW MOON. She said she loved it and it was so much better than the last movie. The movie started at midnight. George took them. They wanted to be there early so I think they went around 10:00 to get a good seat. Mrs. L (FriendK's Mom) brought them back since she was and FriendK were there. That was REALLY nice. The movie was not over until 2:30 or something like that. Wow. I kept thinking how awful we were as parents to let her do this. But...it is fun for them to do something funky like this every once in a while. McFriend spent the night with us. All the girls loved these books. It's kinda what got TheTeen hooked on reading. So we allowed her to do this. Actually George did. I don't think they asked me. lol. She went to the last one too. Did any of you out there go? Was it a new moon for real last night? lol

Anyway...George fixed Keilbasa met-worsts (spelling?) and mac n cheese for dinner. The met-worsts were a little on the hot side but that was perfect with the mac n cheese. Cheese "calms" heat. I've not had mac n cheese in a while and that was awesome.

George and I watched a movie last night and I think it was called "Bottle Shock".....based on a true story about how the California wines came to be known and appreciated in the wine business. It was a fun movie. I enjoyed it. I can see where the movie critics might not like it (and I have no idea if they did or not). But I liked it. It was nice to "get the mind away".

For some reason I could not go to sleep last night. I guess I'm going to bed later and getting up later so my sleep cycle is getting off a bit. I did not go in for third shift today since I did that all week last week and have already been in early one day this week.

TheTeen has an away game tonight to cheer for. She and McFriend are going to be so tired after their big movie night out. She just got up a few minutes ago and said "big mistake" (meaning not getting enough sleep).

Tomorrow we are going to visit a college in KY and see our friends while we are there. This is the weekend I put up my Christmas decor too. And a big grocery shopping weekend as I need to get all the ingredients for what we will be cooking for Thanksgiving. I'll be cooking some dishes for three meals - the one for work, one for George's family which is like a reunion and in Ashland City, TN this time instead of KY, and then with Mom in C-Town. So I have to get my list ready. I'm not sure how much Christmas decor will go up this weekend but we'll at least get the stuff upstairs so we can start to work on it.

It's a two day week for me next week at work. And it will be a busy two day week. I will not be able to get everything done that needs to get done. I'm afraid someone will be mad or upset. But it is impossible to get a 5 day job done in 2 days. One of those days will be in our break room setting up, serving, and tearing down the Thanksgiving meal. It is a lot of work. So really that leaves Monday. I'm kinda nervous about next week.

Well, I best get off of here. I was going to do a short entry but the fingers just kept typing as the hot coffee is perking up my brain. I really like the morning blogging. I can think more clearly than blogging at night.

One more thing....lol...I miss reading my book (Living a Foriegn Language by Michael Tucker)...I've been busy doing other things but hopefully can sneak back into reading some this next week. I really could use the day off today to grocery shop and Christmas decorate but not gonna happen as I need to be at work too. Need to split myself in half. Or maybe thirds so the third person could play games on the PC and read for me and do the laundry.

Have a good day!

Evil Garage Door?

Wow, sleep was good last night. I feel like singing zippy de do da, zippy de day.....with bluebirds on my shoulder. lol

Yesterday was a mad rush to finish data entry so that I can do my auditing today on all the benefit enrollment entries. If it took so long to get all these entered, I am seriously wondering how to get all the auditing done in one day. I have lots of things that have built up this week needing my attention too and I'll have to prioritize those and get a few of those things done today too. We have a leadership meeting as well. Too much going on...and this is for Donna..."it is what it is"! I only said that to tease at Donna b/c she does not like that phrase! lol We say that a lot at work. It's better than some other things you could say at times.

So yesterday, Bee and Ree and I headed to lunch at the Harley Davidson Cafe. It was great. We were missing Ms. Makeready. She is out on medical leave and we are hoping she is recovering well. I am hoping to hear from her today or to call her today.

Last night something funny happened. Every time I closed the garage door, it opened back up again. I thought that 1) TheTeen was goofing on me or 2) Candid Camera was here and starting up a new series with me as the headliner 3) The evil spirits let out and are going wild on ME! 4) Those people in the graveyard in the woods behind our house are no longer in their graves. 5) The neighbors remote works on my garage and they are goofing on me. I never figured it out and liked to never got the door closed back again. It was hilarious, baffling, and then it started to make me mad. Finally I was able to trick it back down again by a series of up down up downs and as long as it did not go all the way down, it would work. So I finally got it as far down as it would go. So irritating. Then I told Hubby G. I'm sure he will fix it tomorrow, right? right. I'll just start parking on his side. lol

I was so happy not to have any benefit entries to do last night. I was happy to have the much needed break after working on it day and night for the last 2 to 3 days. So I played on the PC some, then read the paper some, then cut out coupons from Sunday's paper and WOW what a great coupon Sunday! Even a 50 cent coupon on Tobasco - any flavor and any size. That is akin to $1.00 off with doubling! WOOT. lol

I was ready for sleep about 9:00 and as I said, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Tugie the Toy P snuggled up by my side and it is a good thing we have a queen size b/c with all our pillows, dog and sometimes a cat on the bed...it gets all cozy. lol

Well, I'll not bore you any longer. Best get going so I can get to work and do that auditing.

Stuff.................

Well, it appears that TheTeen has migraines...he called it "teenage migraines"....and agreed to do blood work but would not do an MRI or scan or anything. He also suggested the Excedrin Migraine medicine like my sister recommended. We bought that at the grocer Sunday. She took one yesterday and that did not knock it out but I guess she will have to take two. Her headaches come in "clusters".

Anyway, after the doc we grabbed lunch at a little Italian place called "Painturo's" that has a $3.99 lunch menu". And then I took her back to school. Then came home and began entering benefit forms. I worked on it off and on from 1:30 to 9:00 last night. I think that today I will be able to knock them out. But I am ready for some down time and it is only Wednesday. lol

Lots of stuff going on at Hubby G's work. A lot of that interrupted my afternoon trying to figure out what was going on as they had an FBI raid. But I believe all is well. Hubby G had to stay over a bit to talk to some lawyers about their procedures. All is well with him as he has done nothing wrong. But it was a big excitement getting emails from friends yesterday asking if my husband was ok. Imagine my surprise and my response "what do you mean is my husband ok?????". So I made courtesy calls to the immediate family members telling them "if you see the news, your (brother, son, son in law, brother in law) is not in trouble and ok". lol

I am glad it is midweek already. But I have worked so much that truly it seems like Thursday. Yesterday seemed like Wednesday. I truly could not fathom that it was only Tuesday yesterday. Matter of fact...I dated several things the 18th! lol I even had to consult Google to see what day it was. That is sad. lol

Bee and I and hopefully Renee are going to eat at the Harley today. Shh don't tell anyone! lol Our other buddy is having surgery. Our favorite waiter, Charlie is not there at Long Horn today so we decided to eat somewhere else for a change.

Well, I guess I better get off of here and start my day and try to beat the MJ traffic to Nashville. Construction, school zones, new traffic lights and such have really made it interesting just trying to get to the interstate. My 35 minute drive is more like 45 now sometimes if I don't leave early before the ooogie boogies get out. The oogie boogies are "everyone trying to get to work in a hurry all at once"....

Teen's Doc Appointment Today....

Not much time for a post but here I go anyway. This is what I looked like this morning when my alarm went off. I had lots of benefit data entry to do last night so I went to bed later than I would have. Now I have to be at the plant early b/c of an employee situation.

TheTeen has a doc appointment today at 10:30 to find out what is going on with her headaches. She was dizzy some Friday and Saturday and this scared me. Now this morning she is nauseated. She has cheer pictures this morning so I hope she at least get through that so she'll be in the pictures. So I'm leaving work this morning to go take her to the doc. I'm taking the laptop home and will enter benefit open enrollment forms all afternoon without interruption so I can get this done by the deadline.

Yesterday was very busy at work and I didn't even get to start on forms til 3:00. What takes time is missing information and having to back track with folks to get beneficiaries or find out why someone checked both "enroll" and "waive"...lol...stuff like that....so I did spend a good part of yesterday trying to get all that done so when the data entry came I'd have the info. We have so much going on too. So it is really busy right now coordinating the holiday meal and doing 2nd Harvest and Toys for Tots and counseling emps with benefits and FMLA and disability and everything else. Like this every year.

Please pray for TheTeen as I'm starting to get worried about her health.

Also some disturbing news. I was told that my doc is dropping United Health Care (my insurance) in January. I was also told that a prominent hospital in the greater Nashville area dropped United Health Care too. Folks in that area have to drive miles and miles now to be covered at a hospital. My doc office has told their patients "sorry but UHC is not paying us what they are supposed to pay". This is devastating b/c I really liked my doctor. I'm sure if I'm seeing signs of this is my little slice of the universe, that others are seeing it too. That is sad b/c through the years they have been so good and doctors would accept it and be glad to see your UHC card. Now I'm getting frowns at it. They also would not cover my flu shots at Walgreens. Had I gone to the doc supposedly they would have. Oh well.

I guess I better finish getting ready and get to work....
