A Mother's Study on LifeHere are some verses mothers can meditate on that will help them with their life.
Genesis 1:27-28 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. Genesis 2:18-24 And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him. And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof. And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him. And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man. And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man. Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh. Deuteronomy 11:18-21 Therefore shall ye lay up these my words in your heart and in your soul, and bind them for a sign upon your hand, that they may be as frontlets between your eyes. And ye shall teach them your children, speaking of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, when thou liest down, and when thou risest up. And thou shalt write them upon the door posts of thine house, and upon thy gates: That your days may be multiplied, and the days of your children, in the land which the LORD sware unto your fathers to give them, as the days of heaven upon the earth. Psalm 128:3 Thy wife [shall be] as a fruitful vine by the sides of thine house: thy children like olive plants round about thy table. Proverbs 5:18 Let thy fountain be blessed: and rejoice with the wife of thy youth. Proverbs 18:22 [Whoso] findeth a wife findeth a good [thing], and obtaineth favour of the LORD. Proverbs 19:13 A foolish son [is] the calamity of his father: and the contentions of a wife [are] a continual dropping. Proverbs 19:14 House and riches [are] the inheritance of fathers: and a prudent wife [is] from the LORD. Ecclesiastes 9:9 Live joyfully with the wife whom thou lovest all the days of the life of thy vanity, which he hath given thee under the sun, all the days of thy vanity: for that [is] thy portion in [this] life, and in thy labour which thou takest under the sun. I Corinthians 7:3-5 Let the husband render unto the wife due benevolence: and likewise also the wife unto the husband. The wife hath not power of her own body, but the husband: and likewise also the husband hath not power of his own body, but the wife. Defraud ye not one the other, except [it be] with consent for a time, that ye may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together again, that Satan tempt you not for your incontinency. Ephesians 5:22-25 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so [let] the wives [be] to their own husbands in every thing. Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; Ephesians 5:31 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. Ephesians 5:33 Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife [see] that she reverence [her] husband. I Peter 3:1-9 Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives; [2] While they behold your chaste conversation coupled with fear. [3] Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel; [4] But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price. [5] For after this manner in the old time the holy women also, who trusted in God, adorned themselves, being in subjection unto their own husbands: [6] Even as Sara obeyed Abraham, calling him lord: whose daughters ye are, as long as ye do well, and are not afraid with any amazement. [7] Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered. [8] Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous: [9] Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing. Then come the children: Proverbs 1:7-9 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction. My son, hear the instruction of thy father, and forsake not the law of thy mother: For they shall be an ornament of grace unto thy head, and chains about thy neck. Proverbs 10:1 The proverbs of Solomon. A wise son maketh a glad father: but a foolish son [is] the heaviness of his mother. Proverbs 19:26 He that wasteth [his] father, [and] chaseth away [his] mother, [is] a son that causeth shame, and bringeth reproach. Proverbs 19:18 Chasten thy son while there is hope, and let not thy soul spare for his crying. Proverbs 20:11 Even a child is known by his doings, whether his work [be] pure, and whether [it be] right. Proverbs 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it. Proverbs 22:15 Foolishness [is] bound in the heart of a child; [but] the rod of correction shall drive it far from him. Proverbs 23:13 Withhold not correction from the child: for [if] thou beatest him with the rod, he shall not die. Proverbs 23:22 Hearken unto thy father that begat thee, and despise not thy mother when she is old. Proverbs 23:24-25 The father of the righteous shall greatly rejoice: and he that begetteth a wise [child] shall have joy of him. Thy father and thy mother shall be glad, and she that bare thee shall rejoice. Proverbs 23:26 My son, give me thine heart, and let thine eyes observe my ways. Proverbs 29:15 The rod and reproof give wisdom: but a child left [to himself] bringeth his mother to shame. Proverbs 29:17 Correct thy son, and he shall give thee rest; yea, he shall give delight unto thy soul. Never forget that you are a woman, a wife, and a mom: Proverbs 31:10-31 Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies. [11] The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil. [12] She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life. [13] She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands. [14] She is like the merchants' ships; she bringeth her food from afar. [15] She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens. [16] She considereth a field, and buyeth it: with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard. [17] She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengtheneth her arms. [18] She perceiveth that her merchandise is good: her candle goeth not out by night. [19] She layeth her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff. [20] She stretcheth out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy. [21] She is not afraid of the snow for her household: for all her household are clothed with scarlet. [22] She maketh herself coverings of tapestry; her clothing is silk and purple. [23] Her husband is known in the gates, when he sitteth among the elders of the land. [24] She maketh fine linen, and selleth it; and delivereth girdles unto the merchant. [25] Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come. [26] She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness. [27] She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness. [28] Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her. [29] Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all. [30] Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised. [31] Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates. Ephesians 6:1-2 Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right. Honour thy father and mother; (which is the first commandment with promise;) I Timothy 3:11 Even so must their wives be grave, not slanderers, sober, faithful in all things. I Timothy 5:14 I will therefore that the younger women marry, bear children, guide the house, give none occasion to the adversary to speak reproachfully. Titus 2:3-5 The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things; That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed. Horsemanship: Trailer TrainingTrailer Training is working around your horse's natural instincts. For a horse to put himself into a confined area is contrary to what his natural instincts would tell him to do. Training a horse to load and unload needs to be done several times before the horse travels in a trailer. You will need the following equipment:
Stable bandages Poll guard Longe line Buggy whip The key to teaching a horse to load is to make him feel comfortable inside the trailer. Begin by bandaging his legs and putting on a poll guard. These will protect him from possible injury as he learns to load. Next clip the longe line on his halter and hold the extra line in the left hand and the buggy whip in the right, like you would if you were to longe him. Now lead him up to the trailer, which should be open, clean, and parked in an area free of hazardous obstacles or distractions. Allow him to sniff the floor. He will either back away or lose interest after he has smelled it. When the horse's attention turns away from the trailer, encourage him to step forward, first with your voice and then, if he doesn't take a step, with the buggy whip tickling his croup. The intention is not to rush him but to gently encourage him forward. As soon as he takes a step forward toward or onto the trailer floor stop using the whip and praise him. If he backs out, circle him and approach the trailer again, this time asking him for a little more. If he gets excited, longe him for a few minutes behind the trailer (not to the side) until he relaxes. Then on one of the circles gently drive him up into the trailer. When he puts more of his body into the trailer than the last time stop driving and praise him. Should he back out quickly, immediately put him back to work on the longe line until he is relaxed. When he is relaxed, drive him again into the trailer and quit as soon as he gets part of his body in it. A good idea is to have a little grain or hay in the trailer to entice him to stay. He may back out quickly again, he may back out slowly, or he may stay. You must remain relaxed whatever he chooses to do. As long as he is in the trailer do not pester him with the whip or he will come out again, feeling that he cannot get away. Should he chose to stay in for a period of time, wait until he is relaxed before backing him out. When you do, tug gently on the longe line and say "back". Give him time to respond and be sure you are not standing right behind him. When he starts backing out, praise him and soothe him. Have your horse load and unload several times with this method until he calmly and immediately walks up and into the trailer, remains in the trailer until you say "back", and quietly backs out of the trailer. The key is for him to be relaxed with loading, standing, and unloading. Once the horse loads, stands, and unloads quietly and consistently, you can close the door. DO NOT CLOSE IT BEFORE THIS. Use a quiet soothing voice while you close the trailer up. Wait a few minutes, to ensure he relaxes, before opening the door. Do this several times until you are convinced the banging noises and close quarters do not frighten him. Should he become nervous or excited at any one of these stages, return to the stage before and review until he is calm again. Repeat this entire exercise for several days until he consistently loads, stands, and unloads quietly. At that time, and only then, is he ready to travel. Dealing with a horse that moves a lot during trailering: if horse is trailered in a small stall it may not be able to spread its legs enough to keep its balance. Allow enough length in tie that it can comfortably move to the back of its stall but not get hung up. Make sure there is enough head clearance. If trailering by itself remove the stall divider or, if with another horse, remove the bottom portion of divider. Drive slowly and give plenty of warning before starting and stopping. Make turns wide, slow, and easy. If possible, trailer horse in an open stock trailer where it will have adequate room to get its balance. Spiritual LifeEveryone has a spirit - it is that part of you that needs to connect with someone beyond yourself in a very intimate fashion, and on a level beyond normal human communication.
Those who acknowledge that something is missing in their lives begin to seek fulfillment. They may not say that they feel spiritually dead; they may not even be aware they have a spirit. Nonetheless everyone will have a moment in his or her life where a dullness, an emptiness, a feeling of being alone, will spark realization of a need. Some may only acknowledge it for a moment. Others will spend years of their lives seeking after it. Still others will discover a quickening of their spirit that brings such great joy and peace and that changes their inner thoughts, feelings, and attitudes - they become a new creature. Where are you? Did you know that there is a way to make your spirit alive? No, it is not through the conjuring up of spirits. It is not through religion and religious rites. It is not through a kinship with other people, nor through the gathering of wealth and possessions. There is only one way, and that is through Jesus Christ, known also as the Word, God's Son, Creator. A simple act of disobedience killed the connection mankind had with the Holy Spirit, that is, with God. One great act, the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, made reconnection possible. The Bible says: But God, who is rich in mercy, for His great love wherewith He loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: That in the ages to come He might shew the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. (Ephesians 2:4-7) The work has been done. The gift is offered. The price is paid. Only acknowledge your need and believe. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Romans 10:13 WritingWriting is a hobby I have turned into a career. I love to write. Since I was a child it has provided a way for me to escape into another world. It provided for me a way to express myself when I felt no one was listening. ReadingReading takes us to parts of the world we may never visit and on adventures we may never personally experience. We see life through characters and learn a little about ourselves. More Recent Articles |
