Chicken Soup for the Soul & Body

These days it's rainy in the evenings. And yesterday I really felt like having a hot bowl of soup. It also helped that there was some chicken stock in the fridge. I diced one carrot and one onion and grabbed 2 handfuls of sweet corn. Boiled and drained the corn. Then I sauteed the onions and carrot in butter. Added the corn. Did all this on low heat. Then added 600 ml of water. You may wonder how I came to use exactly 600 ml. Well in most ready-made soups, they use about this much:) SO I figured this would be the right amount. So I added the water and allowed everything to boil and added some black pepper powder and salt. Into this I added shreds of chicken,the chicken stock and some chicken bones. Also added a pinch of sweet basil for flavouring. When you are ready to serve, you may want to remove the chicken bones. It's really comforting to have some soup on a wet day.

Ranjini Haridas anchors season 2 of Idea Dream Home

Idea Dream Home Season 2 kicked off yesterday. This is an interesting program for anyone who likes design and interiors. The program is aired on Rosebowl at 8 o clock from Monday to Friday. This time round the anchor is Ranjini Haridas. Deepthi who anchored the first season is shooting on location in this series. Judges from season one, architect Sankar of Habitat fame and architect Reuben, are judges for this show as well. The third judge will be constantly changed. Yesterday it was architect Shaina from Kollam.

Chicking on MC Rd

There are 2 Chickings on the MC Road. The first is in Thiruvalla and is located in Deepa Towers. You can buy the food and sit in the food court. This is open till 11pm. Here you get authentic Chicking fare. Wraps and Chicking burgers. There is also a decent loo on the same level. The next Chicking is in Kodimatha, KTM.

I hope you all get to spend time with the people who care about you. Enjoy the good moments. And meanwhile, there's no harm in having a couplo Diwali sweets while yr at it. After all, what is life if you can't have a pal peda or a couplo malpuas at least on Diwali???
