Tipp Streetscape hits a small snag

Unexpected delays mean that phase one of the project—the work between First and Third Streets—will be complete later than expected, but phase two will begin earlier. Suspect apprehended, schools locked down
By JOYELL NEVINS Record Herald Editor MIAMI/MONTGOMERY COUNTY - A Vandalia police chase turned into bad news for Tipp City when a fugitive got loose and local schools were put in lockdown. Within an hour, though, the man was apprehended and police let schools out safely. At about 1:10 p.m. Tuesday, Butler Township Police recieved a “theft in progress” call from the Walmart at Miller Lane. Two suspects had attempted to steal an X-box and videos. Council gives free rent to Community Services
By CECILIA FOX Record Herald Writer Ceciliaafox@gmail.com TIPP CITY - Looking for ways to make up for losses in funding, Tipp Monroe Community Services (TMCS) asked city officials last month to allow the organization to stop paying rent for its downtown headquarters. On Monday, June 3, Council approved a resolution that suspends the organization’s rent payments indefinitely. Statue at Veterans Memorial dedicated

TIPP CITY – After a yearlong process, the Tipp City Veterans Memorial now has a memorial as well as a custom made statue reminding us to “remember why” those who serve do it. “Not only do we honor the men and women who are fighting now, but we pay tribute to all who have ever served,” Mayor Dee Gillis said at the statue’s dedication. Canal Music Fest coming
TIPP CITY — Its coming...the fourth annual Canal Music Fest and the first ever Summer Music Series. Supported in part by a grant from the Ohio Arts Council and promoted by the Tipp City Area Arts Council, the Canal Music Fest scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Saturday, June 8, will be the kick-off of the Summer Music Series.
