Life got in the way

I know it's been a LONG time since I have posted (and the fact that I have received so much spam on the previous post is about to drive me crazy)- but honestly, in the last month I have made about 4-5 cards and that's it.  In my defense, I have been exercising and training for the half marathon.  That is now over (was April 7) and we are coming into the busy season of school.  Not sure how much stamping time that will give me but I will try :)  Here's one that has been made in the last month!  This post will be short and sweet!

Recipe:
Stamps- Unity
Ink- black
Paper- sugar, onyx, (and I believe grapefruit chevron)- all amuse
Accessories- copic marker, nestabilities

Just For You

Today was an ice day (aka snow day with no snow) so I had a lazy Friday.  I got the lesson plans done last night so that meant I could relax a bit.  I had a "busy" day (haha).  I did get up and run a 5K- virtual race- no, not outside but on the treadmill (I had no desire to land on my tush on the ice).  Still working on improving my time and speed there and then unfortunately for the first time in a week my knee was barking at me today.  It was doing a lot better and then today... not so well- not sure why.  I'm supposed to do another virtual 5K "race"/run tomorrow (Saturday) as well but this one I may end up walking the majority of :(  Anyway, before I started some reading for the nutrition class I am taking I decided to put together a card.  It was supposed to be for two challenges but I didn't read one of them very well and used the wrong color green- oh well, it still qualifies for the JustRite Friday Challenge .  The challenge was to create a card with a JustRite stamp (your favorite) and tell why- honestly, this is the only one I have so that is why it's my fave!  It was gifted to me and this is the first time I have used it.  I didn't have the dies that it coordinated with so just never took it out of the package- today I just decided to "fussy cut" it and it turned out okay.  I ended up using it the create my own background and the color combo was a new one for me.  I kind of like it.

Enough rambling- here's the cards and the details:

Don't Give Up, Keep On Going, Make Healthy Choices

And surprisingly these are all my "titles" of cards ;)  Honestly, I have some cards made but I just haven't taken the time to blog them.  I like blogging, I really do, but some days I just want to put the pictures up with minimal words so, for now, since I am spending most of my time blogging HERE I am going to do a multiple picture post with minimal words :)  To be frank, the cards are speaking of where I am so that's what I make :)

Good For You!

So, it's been a while- life and exercise (but mainly life) has gotten in the way of my regular stamping/posting here.  My goal for 2013 is to spend a minimum of 3 days per week getting crafty- that could be something on pinterest, stamping cards, or working on my journey scrapbook.  Regardless, something has to change!  Oh, and I am going on a spending freeze!  I have ONE stamp set that I want to buy and my goal is to make 15 cards before I am allowed to buy it.  After that, I'll set another goal and have to meet it before doing my next thing.  On another note, I have been blogging more frequently over at my Journey to a Healthy Life blog if you want to pop over there and see what I have been up to- I think you might be surprised.

Anyway, I bought this stamp set with some paypal money I had set aside when The Sweet Stamp Shop had a sale- it is a cute set!  For my first card in WAY too long I went with a very CAS sketch from Freshly Made Sketches.  Their sketches should help with my goal of 3 days per week- they are super CAS and I have been wanting to play along for a while.  Without further rambling here you go:

Dreams take flight...

and they can be whatever kind of dreams you fancy- the two best dreams are those that you can't stop thinking about and birthday dreams.  And, what do you know- Sweet n Sassy stamps are celebrating their 5th Birthday with a fantabulous blog hop today.  I'm going to keep this as short as possible because there are 37 blogs to visit (that's a lot of inspiration right there).  Anyway- here's a quick peek at my card and my inspiration behind it and then I'll give you some of the details regarding the hop.

I have very few SNSS sets- not because I don't want any but because with my limited funds I never know which ones to get.  However, there were two sets that I knew immediately I had to have- Let Go, Let God and this one- Dream Big.  I love the sentiments in this set and the whimsical image.  That butterfly die is an a*muse|studio die and I had to cover up my horrific coloring mistake on the butterfly image.  I chose some fun colors with this card- I am loving the bermuda and cherry together!  SNSS have whatever kind of stamps you can imagine- from silhouette to vintage, to scriptures to encouraging, to whimsical and cute.  This set means a lot to me right now.  I am contemplating some changes in my life and that means that I will have to do some dreaming/dream big to accomplish that to which I believe God is calling me!  I can't wait to let those dreams take flight!

Now, for some housekeeping items:
There will be 4 random participants from whom I will choose 1 commenter to receive a $15 store credit.
~To be included in the drawings, comments must be left by midnight EST Friday, November 30th.
~The winners will be announced on the SNSS Blog on December 1st at 8am EST

How FUN and generous!  Give it a shot!
