It seems strange looking back...

It seems strange looking back on my crafting life. Before I retired, I made cards, lots and lots of cards! I turned to paper, stamps and inks for a stress reliever from my work life. Then, after I retired, I found that I was crafting less and less often. Almost as though I no longer needed it to calm me. Only recently has the desire and joy in card making returned and it fulfills me once again.

This card is made from the new Hello Lovely stamp set from Concord and 9th and the sentiment is from Paper Smooches Sympathy Sampler set. Love how forgiving this floral set is. Especially for those days when perfection is no where to be found!
It's all about the details:
Stamps: Concord and 9th and Paper Smooches
Cardstock: Neenah Solar White
Patterned Paper: MFT
Ink: Distress Oxide

Here's my card that I call "Casual Friday". Please tell me that I am not the only one that nicknames my cards. LOL!

I began with a pocket from an old pair of blue jeans that I had saved. You know, in case it came in handy someday. :) I wrapped the pocket multiple times in Maraschino Solid twine (such a luscious deep red)  and attached it to the card using large glue dots. I then stamped "And I Think to Myself" (I dare you to use this stamp without singing or at least humming the song. Go head, try, it's impossible!) on white cardstock with Memento Nautical Blue ink. The font on this stamp just makes me happy! I cut out the sentiment with Nestabilities and attached it using Midnight Blue Stripe twine. A little heart button embellished with the same twine finished the card.

Thanks for visiting me today! Jennifer Cuthbertson is your next stop on the hop. Have fun and be sure to leave your comments! Remember to visit the Serendipity Stamps and The Twinery blogs for complete details.

Enjoy and thanks again!!

Papers are My Mind's Eye and the sentiment was stamped with the eye poppin' neon Hero Arts ink. Love that stuff!

Hope you all have a happy and blessed Easter.

Sweet 'n Sassy - Part 2

Today I'm going to share two more projects that were made with Sweet 'n Sassy's "Poppies & Greetings" stamp set. The first card was made by stamping the single blossom repeatedly on a white panel and then coloring them with Copic Markers. I added a few pearls and rhinestones to the centers and then I added one of my favorite sentiments from the set. You can never have too many friendship cards on hand!

The second card is a pocket card made from kraft cardstock. I sewed it with my new Brother sewing machine (I am crazy in love with it! So many stitch choices and it sews on card stock like a dream.) and stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. The leaves and stems were colored with Copic Markers and the poppies were paper pieced. The die cut on the insert was created on my Silhouette Cameo.

Be sure to visit Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps to see this set along with all their other fantastic stamp sets!

I have one last project to share with you in a day or so.

Hope you had a terrific weekend. I have just four working days this coming week and then I am taking a much needed vacation! We'll be heading to Disneyland with my daughter, son-in-law and the grandbabies! Can't wait!

Have a terrific day!
