Autumn Serenity

Hello, Avril here with an Autumnal tag using the image from Serenity which was stamped with Potting Soil Archival, roughly torn and coloured with Distress inks.
I've made a background from corrugated card swiped with a copper pigment ink pad and then heat set with copper EP.  This was layered onto inked paper with a scrap of dictionary paper tucked in.

I've also torn the word autumn from an old dictionary and attached to the corrugated card, along with some tiny acorns and paperclay leaves.

Serenity

Hello,  Avril here with an Autumnal wall hanging using an image from Serenity which was stamped with Vintage Sepia Versafine ink and coloured with Distress inks.

This was layered onto a piece of inked cardstock that had been randomly stamped with the small leaf element from Generation Redux.

The base layer was made using embossing paste through a woodgrain stencil and coloured with distress inks.  The leaf embellishments were made with paperclay and coloured with DIs.

If you get creative this week, we'd love to see what you create so please show us on our Artistic Outpost Facebook page.

Secrets

Hello, Avril here and this week I'm using an image from Diesel Punk along with one of the quotes from Quote and Quotables.

I began by stamping the quote and heat embossed with clear EP,  then cut a mask from a post it note to protect the words before positioning and stamping the main image, this omitted the car, which wasn't necessary to this design.

The background was sponged with Distress Oxides, avoiding the main image.  I then spritzed with water to merge the colours, but dried with a kitchen towel as I didn't want the colours to merge too much.

The Next Shot

Hello, Avril here today and my card this week uses The Golf Club set of stamps.

I began with a mop up Oxide ink background and then some stencilling using Peeled Paint Distress ink.

I stamped the Golfer with Black Archival ink and then stamped the image on a post-it note, which after fussy cutting was used as a mask before stamping the background.  I also stamped the label and quote with black.

To 'ground the image I used a couple of the small stamps from the Grunge Elements, stamped with Forest moss DI and a little shading.

Hero

Hello, Avril here today and this week I'm using more images from Paperboys.

I started with a piece of Kraft card and stamped the background image with Black Archival.  My paperboy was stamped onto separate card using Potting Soil Archival and fussy cut.

I decided where he would be placed and then used the coffee ring and splats from the Grunge Elements, stamping with White Colourbox Chalk ink.  I also stamped the speckles with 2nd generation black.  I also flicked a few paint splats of my own using watered down white paint.

The sentiment was masked to leave only the word Hero before inking with black and then removing the masking tape, allowing me to just stamp the one word.

My paperboy image was then added using some very thin foam tape.

I hope you get to be creative with your rubber stamps and if you do, please share with us on our Artistic Outpost Facebook page, we'd love to see.

Thanks for calling in, have a great week,

Avril Bailey : Designer
