Installing FeedBlitz on TypePad without the FeedBlitz Widget

This guide is designed to give you step by step instruction on how to install FeedBlitz on TypePad without the widget. Before you begin, be sure you know how/where to get the HTML code for the registration box. If you dont know how to get this code, you can find help here.

Step 1 - Getting to the Log In Screen

Naturally, the first step is to get to the login screen. Goto http://www.typepad.com. In the top right corner you will see the Member Sign-In link. Click on it to get to the login screen.

Step 2 - Log In

Put in your Username and Password and click Log In.

Step 3 - Inside the TypePad Main Page

Welcome to the main page of TypePad, the hub of where you make changes to your blog(s). To get started, click on the TypeLists tab.

Step 4 - Creating a New TypeList

In the Create a new TypeList box, change List Type to Notes in the drop down box and put in a List name, for instance FeedBlitz.

Step 5 - Add new TypeList to Blog

A new TypeList has been created. Click on Add this list to your weblog(s) or About Page link.

Step 6 - Adding TypeList to blog(s)

In the new pop-up window, check the blog(s) you want the FeedBlitz subscription box to appear on. Click Save Changes and then Close Window.

Step 7 - Add new TypeList Item

While in the TypeList tab of the original window, click Add a new Item.

Step 8 - Adding FeedBlitz code

In the new pop-up window, in Label field put “FeedBlitz”. Copy and paste FeedBlitz code into Note field. One small adjustment must be made to the FeedBlitz code. Look for the attribute size="30". Change the 30 to 20. Click Save Changes button and then click Close Window.

Step 9 - Preparring to Arrange Side Bar

Back on the original page, select the “Weblogs” tab.

Step 10 - Accessing the Design Editing Tools

Click on Edit Design for your appropriate blog.

Step 11 - Accessing the Sidebar Ordering

Click on Change Ordering.
