Installing FeedBlitz on WordPress (Personal Server)
This guide is designed to give you step by step instruction on how to install FeedBlitz on WordPress (Personal Server). Before you begin, be sure you know how/where to get the HTML code for the registration box. If you dont know how to get this code, you can find help here.
Step 1 - Log into WordPress
Naturally, the first step is to log into WordPress. You should have your log-in page of WordPress bookmarked. If you don't, you may find a login link in the side bar of your blog. Put in your username and password, click sign in and youll be taken to the WordPress Dashboard.
Step 2 - Inside the WordPress Dashboard
WordPress' dashboard is where you can make all the changes and configurations to your blog. Click on the Presentation link that is located in the top navigation bar.
Step 3 - Accessing the Theme Editor
Inside the Presentation panel you can access the Theme Editor. Click on Theme Editor link in the panel that appears below the main panel.
Step 4 - Accessing the SideBar Code
On the right side of the screen you will see the Theme Editor sidebar. This list contains all of the editable template parts of your template. Click on the link that says Sidebar to edit your Sidebar code.
Step 4 - Add Code
Remember you needed to know how to get your FeedBlitz code? This is where it needs to go. If this is our first time playing with the Theme Editor, place the code after the </ul> but before last </div>. This will give you the FeedBlitz subscription box at the bottom of your sidebar. When your done this, press the Update File button. Click on the image of the code to expand to a full view.
Step 5 - Final Notes
When all is done, you can preview your blog to look at your new fancy FeedBlitz widget. However, some minor tweaking will probably have to occure. Often the subscription box is longer than the width of the side bar. To remedy this issue, go into the FeedBlitz code on the sidebar and seek out the attribute size="30". Change this value to 20 and save. Preview your blog and tweak that number until you are satisfied with its size in your sidebar.
