Two Days in San Francisco

What to see, do and eat in San Francisco, CA - bay tours, Sausalito, Original Joe's, Harris' Steakhouse, Napa Valley Burger Company, Trish's Mini Donuts, Ghriadelli, Fisherman's Warf and Lombard Street. You can do it all in 2 days!

Back at the end of March, we took a super quick trip to San Francisco. I spoke at a conference in Los Angeles, and we decided to hit up San Francisco for a few days before we went to LA.

We've been to San Francisco several times. It had been a while since our last trip, so we were excited to visit again. We spent most of our limited time doing touristy things. We took a boat ride under the Golden Gate Bridge, a boat to Sausalito, ate at some great restaurants and tried to relax!

We packed a lot in for only being in town for two full days!

This is a great casserole for a work potluck, baby shower brunch, breakfast, lunch, dinner, or any other time you need food! Everyone always asks for the recipe!

One of my all-time favorite breakfast meals is Sausage & Cream Cheese Crescents {http://www.plainchicken.com/2007/11/sausage-cream-cheese-crescents.html}. I got the recipe at one of my first jobs out of college and I've been making them ever since. Ridiculously easy and crazy good! CRAZY good! I was working on new recipes and thought - what if I took sausage and cream cheese and added it to my favorite breakfast casserole. That sounded really good, so off to the kitchen I went!

Well, I have a new favorite breakfast casserole. This Sausage & Cream Cheese Breakfast Casserole is now officially my favorite breakfast casserole. Crescent rolls topped with a mixture of sausage, cream cheese, cheddar, eggs and milk. Can't go wrong with those ingredients. I loved every single bite! Every-single-bite. I ate this for lunch and leftover for dinner. It was that good. This is a great casserole for a work potluck, baby shower brunch, breakfast, lunch, dinner, or any other time you need food! Give it a try. I promise this recipe is a winner!

Slow Cooker Chicken Tacos

Slow Cooker Chicken Tacos - only 5 ingredients! chicken, salsa, taco seasoning, corn and black beans. Great in taco shells or on top of a salad. We ate this two days in a row! Such a great quick and easy Mexican recipe! The whole family loved it!

This recipe is from Plain Chicken reader - Lucy Smith. She emailed me this recipe and said her family loved it and that I should try it. I read over it and it was really similar to a recipe I made forever ago and forgot about. I immediately added it to our menu.

This is super simple and a great weeknight meal. I added a can of black beans and some corn to the slow cooker about 15 minutes before serving. It was so easy and really delicious! We served the chicken in soft taco shells. This makes a lot, so for the leftovers we made some quesadillas. Really good too! You could even serve the chicken mixture over a salad for a yummy chicken taco salad.

If you are worried about the heat in this dish, make sure to use mild salsa. I used a jar of Trader Joe's salsa and it wasn't spicy. You can also kick it up with spicy salsa or some sliced fresh jalapeños.

Butter Pecan Pound Cake

Butter Pecan Pound Cake - one of the AMAZING pound cakes I've ever eaten! So easy and delicious! Flour, vanilla pudding, butter, pecans, eggs, sour cream and Vanilla, Butter and Nut extract. Only takes a minute to make and it smells amazing while it bakes!I took this to a party and everyone asked for the recipe!

This Butter Pecan Pound Cake was SO delicious! I am not usually a fan of Butter Pecan, but this cake won me over!! It is so buttery, moist and full of amazing pecans! To put the cake over the top, we served it with some Butter Pecan Ice Cream - heaven!

The flavoring in the cake comes from the Vanilla, Butter & Nut flavoring. This was my first time baking with the Vanilla, Butter & Nut flavoring. It is made by McCormick - you can see it here: http://amzn.to/29SBrSf. It really made the cake.

Note - I used a tube pan to bake this cake. You can find it here: http://amzn.to/29Md0Cn. I've been baking most of my pound cakes in this pan lately. They never stick and there is plenty of room for the cake to rise. If you don't have a tube pan and decide to bake this in a bundt pan, make sure to leave about an inch of the pan unfilled. If you fill it all the way to the top, the cake will spill out all over the oven and make a huge mess. You might have leftover batter if you use a bundt pan, but at least you won't have a big mess in the oven.
