I changed blog services / domain – do I have to re-import my subscribers?

Not at all!  All you have to do is change the article source URL from your old blog to your new blog; no subscribers will be harmed and the transition will be pretty seamless for them. However, if the name / url has changed it may be a good idea to let your subscribers know of the upcoming change.

Here’s what you have to do:

  1. Make sure there is at least one article at your new blog.
  2. Navigate to your new blog. The orange RSS icon should illuminate in your browser (if not then your web designer need to add RSS autodiscovery tags).
  3. Click the orange RSS icon. You should navigate to your new blog’s RSS feed (if there’s an error OR you end up back at your blog’s home page there is an error which need to be fixed).
  4. Assuming that worked, copy the URL you are at into the clipboard.
On your FeedBlitz account dashboard, select your feed.  On the next page, click the “I Want To” button located in the upper right area of the page.

Select “Feed Settings” from the drop down menu.  On the next page you can paste the new feed URL in the dedicated field.

Once completed, make sure to click the gray “Save Changes” button at the bottom of the page.

That’s it! FeedBlitz will now send mailings to your list from the new blog instead of the old; no import / export / resubscribing necessary.
